Nucor Corporation, established in 1958 and headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, stands as a major producer and supplier of steel and a wide variety of steel-derived products. Its comprehensive operations are organized into three principal segments: Steel Mills, Steel Products, and Raw Materials. The Steel Mills division is dedicated to manufacturing an extensive range of items. This includes hot-rolled, cold-rolled, and galvanized sheet steel, as well as various plate steel products. It also fabricates wide-flange beams, beam blanks, and both H-piling and sheet piling products. Furthermore, this segment provides diverse forms of bar steel, such as blooms, billets, concrete reinforcing bars (rebar), merchant bars, and specialized bar quality products. Beyond production, it actively participates in steel trading and rebar distribution. Its manufactured goods are supplied to steel service centers, industrial fabricators, and manufacturers across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Nucor's Steel Products segment offers a broad selection of structural components and finished goods, primarily catering to nonresidential construction. These offerings encompass hollow structural section steel tubing, electrical conduits, steel racking systems, joists and girders, steel decks, and fabricated concrete reinforcing steel. Additional products include cold finished steel, fasteners, complete metal building systems, insulated metal panels, steel grating, expanded metal, and wire and wire mesh items. This division also manages piling distribution. The Raw Materials segment plays a critical role by producing direct reduced iron (DRI). It functions as a broker for various materials, including ferrous and nonferrous metals, pig iron, hot briquetted iron (HBI), and additional DRI, while also supplying ferro-alloys. The segment is deeply involved in processing both ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal and conducts natural gas drilling operations. Ferrous scrap from this division is supplied to electric arc furnace (EAF) steel mills and foundries for their manufacturing processes. Nonferrous scrap metal is sold to aluminum can producers, secondary aluminum smelters, other steel mills and processors, and various nonferrous metal consumers. The company markets its extensive product portfolio to a broad spectrum of industries, including agriculture, automotive, construction, energy and transmission, oil and gas, heavy equipment manufacturing, infrastructure development, and transportation. This widespread outreach is managed through a dedicated in-house sales team and its internal distribution and trading networks.
