Description

Oshkosh Corporation operates globally as a designer, manufacturer, and distributor of specialized vehicles and accompanying bodies. The company's business activities are structured into four main divisions. The Access Equipment segment furnishes aerial work platforms and telehandlers, catering to a wide array of uses in construction, industrial, institutional, and general maintenance contexts. This division also provides financial services such as rental fleet loans, leases, and retail financing facilitated by external partners. Its offerings further extend to towing and recovery gear, carriers, wreckers, equipment installation services, and the distribution of chassis and spare parts. The Defense segment is dedicated to developing and producing heavy, medium, and light tactical wheeled vehicles, along with associated support services, primarily for governmental defense agencies. Through its Fire & Emergency division, Oshkosh constructs both bespoke and standard firefighting apparatus and related equipment. Its extensive product range encompasses pumpers, aerial platforms, ladder and tiller trucks, tankers, rescue vehicles, rugged wildland response vehicles, mobile command centers, bomb disposal units, hazardous materials control vehicles, and various other emergency response units. Additionally, this segment supplies vehicles for aircraft rescue and firefighting, snow removal, broadcasting, command operations, and shelters/trailers for military simulators. The Commercial segment delivers front and rear-discharge concrete mixers for the ready-mix industry, refuse collection vehicles and their components to waste management enterprises, and field service vehicles equipped with truck-mounted cranes for sectors including construction, equipment dealerships, building supplies, utilities, tire services, railways, and mining. Oshkosh Corporation distributes its diverse product lines through a network comprising direct sales representatives, authorized dealers, and distributors. Established in 1917, the enterprise was formerly known as Oshkosh Truck Corporation before adopting its current name in February 2008. Its corporate headquarters are situated in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
