It also serves an additional 538,000 electricity customers throughout central, southeastern, and western Kentucky, along with about 28,000 electric customers in five counties in southwestern Virginia. Furthermore, the company delivers electric services to roughly 1.4 million customers in Pennsylvania. PPL generates electricity in Kentucky from a diverse energy mix, including coal, natural gas, hydroelectric, and solar sources, and also sells wholesale electricity to two municipalities within the state.
