DIC Corporation operates as a global producer and distributor of printing inks, organic pigments, and advanced polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) compounds. Its extensive operations are organized into three principal segments: Packaging & Graphic, Color & Display, and Functional Products. The Packaging & Graphic division supplies a broad array of printing consumables, encompassing diverse inks such as gravure, flexo, offset, news, security, jet, and metal decoration inks, alongside specialized packaging adhesives, coextruded multilayer films, polystyrene, and various other packaging-centric solutions. Within the Color & Display segment, the company provides an extensive selection of colorants, including organic pigments, specialized pigments for color filters and cosmetics, effect pigments, natural colorants, and health food ingredients, in addition to display materials like liquid crystal compounds. The Functional Products segment delivers high-performance materials featuring a diverse array of resins (e.g., coating, UV-curable, waterborne, acrylic, polyurethane, epoxy, phenolic, polyester/alkyd, unsaturated polyester), fluorochemicals, modifiers, alkylphenols, metal carboxylates, sulfur-based chemicals, and specialized textile and leather coloring agents. This segment further encompasses composite materials such as PPS and other functional compounds, masterbatches for fibers and films, industrial adhesive and magnetic tapes, hollow fiber membrane modules, construction materials, decorative papers, sheets, and films, as well as plastic pallets. Offerings also extend to DLP 3D printing materials and blue-green algal polysaccharides. DIC Corporation's varied product portfolio caters to numerous sectors, including electronics, automotive, packaging, healthcare, color and display technologies, home equipment/infrastructure, and the broader functional material industry. Established in Tokyo, Japan, in 1908, the company was formerly known as Dainippon Ink and Chemicals, Incorporated, and rebranded as DIC Corporation in April 2008.
