CGRE focuses on the global real estate industry. The actively managed fund specifically holds REITs, as well as securities of companies that own, manage, develop, finance and otherwise participate in both commercial and residential real estate industries. Constituents are selected using a proprietary top-down macro analysis with a fundamental overlay that gives emphasis on quality, growth and valuation. The funds allocation to Canadian securities is limited to 30% of the portfolio in order to maintain its global scope. In addition, 10% of the funds assets may be invested in securities of other funds, including those that are internally managed. Derivatives such as options, futures, forward contracts and swaps are then used to generate income or hedge exposure.
