This ETF, named MSCI CANADA SELECT SCREENED, is designed to mirror the performance of a segment of the Canadian market focusing on large and mid-sized companies. It incorporates a rigorous screening process based on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards. Specifically, the index excludes companies involved with controversial weapons, those that receive the lowest MSCI ESG Rating of 'CCC' or are unrated, and firms that generate revenue from products or activities like tobacco, conventional or nuclear weapons, civilian firearms, thermal coal, unconventional/Arctic oil and gas extraction, and palm oil. Any issuer with an MSCI Controversies Score of zero is also omitted. A core objective of this index is to achieve a lower greenhouse gas intensity compared to its benchmark. Its composition is re-evaluated and adjusted on a quarterly basis.
