Description

The Invesco MSCI World Universal Screened UCITS ETF Acc endeavors to replicate the net total return performance of the MSCI World Universal Select Business Screens Index (its benchmark), less any associated fees. This Reference Index tracks the performance of large and mid-capitalisation companies across developed global markets. Its strategy aims to increase exposure to firms demonstrating both strong environmental, social, and governance (ESG) credentials and a positive trend in enhancing those credentials, by adjusting constituent weightings based on specific ESG metrics. The index is constructed by systematically excluding securities from the broader MSCI World Index if they: 1) lack an ESG assessment or rating from MSCI; 2) have been involved in severe ESG controversies within the past three years; 3) possess an MSCI ESG Rating of 'CCC'; or 4) are engaged in industries such as controversial, conventional, or nuclear weapons, civilian firearms, oil sands, thermal coal, tobacco, or recreational cannabis. Each remaining, eligible company then receives a composite ESG score, which incorporates MSCI's evaluation of both its current ESG standing and the progression of that rating over time. This combined score subsequently dictates the re-weighting of these companies within the Reference Index. To fulfill its investment goal, the fund endeavors to acquire and retain, where feasible, all the constituent securities of the Reference Index in their precise proportions. The fund's portfolio is adjusted in conjunction with alterations to the Reference Index, which undergoes a review and rebalancing process every six months. This Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) operates under a passive management strategy; an investment in this fund means purchasing units in an index-tracking vehicle, rather than direct ownership of the underlying assets it holds.
