The fund primarily allocates its investments, at least 80% of its total assets, to U.S. government debt securities and their corresponding repurchase agreements. A key focus is on instruments issued by entities chartered or sponsored by Congress, which, notably, are not directly issued or guaranteed by the U.S. Treasury. The portfolio also includes various other instruments linked to U.S. government securities. Ordinarily, the fund's dollar-weighted average maturity is maintained within a range of two to five years.
