The fund is designed with three main objectives: to produce consistent current income, to cultivate long-term growth of that income, and to achieve capital appreciation. To accomplish this, it typically allocates a minimum of 80% of its total invested capital (which includes both net assets and any borrowed funds) to the stock shares of large capitalization companies. The fund's adviser considers "large-cap" companies to be those whose market values are comparable to the firms comprising the Russell 1000® Index.
