This share class is part of a larger fund, designed to generate returns for investors through a blend of capital appreciation and income from its holdings. Its primary goal is to mirror the performance of its benchmark, the MSCI World Mid-Cap Equal Weighted Index. To achieve this, the underlying fund strategically invests in equity securities (such as company shares) that closely correspond to the components of the benchmark index, to the greatest extent possible. The benchmark index itself focuses on the performance of medium-capitalisation equity securities within the broader MSCI World Index (referred to as the "Parent Index"). A key feature of this benchmark is that every security within it is equally weighted. Market capitalisation, for context, is calculated by multiplying a company's share price by its total number of shares issued. While the benchmark draws from the mid-cap companies of the Parent Index, during each rebalancing period, all its constituents are allocated an identical weight. This approach deliberately diminishes the impact of a security's individual share price (whether high or low) on its overall index weighting. As a result, at each rebalance, the Benchmark Index inherently assigns a comparatively larger weighting to the smaller mid-capitalisation equities than would be observed in its Parent Index.
