This fund primarily seeks to replicate, or modestly surpass, the performance of the broader U.S. investment-grade bond universe. Typically, at least 80% of its net assets (which may include borrowed capital for investment) are dedicated to the fixed-income securities comprising its designated benchmark index. The portfolio commonly includes U.S. government and agency-issued debt, mortgage- and asset-backed securities, corporate bonds, and dollar-denominated securities from foreign entities.
