This fund primarily aims to generate a substantial current income stream that is exempt from both federal and California state income taxes. Typically, it dedicates at least 80% of its total assets to fixed-income securities. The interest from these securities is, according to the bond counsel for the issuer at the time of their origination, deemed free from standard federal and California income taxation. The portfolio may also encompass a variety of other fixed-income instruments, including bonds and similar debt obligations issued by diverse U.S. and international, public or private sector entities.
