Description
Headquartered in Hyderabad, India, and established in 1974, Rain Industries Limited, along with its associated companies, is a global producer and distributor of a diverse range of carbon, cement, and advanced material products. The company's operations are divided into three core business units: Carbon, Advanced Materials, and Cement. The Carbon division manufactures critical components such as calcined petroleum coke, coal tar pitch, and green petroleum coke, alongside various byproducts derived from coal tar distillation, including carbon black oil, creosote oil, naphthalene, and other aromatic compounds. The Advanced Materials segment is highly diversified, encompassing naphthalene derivatives (like phthalic anhydride, polynaphthalene sulfonates, and modifiers), petrochemical intermediates (such as benzene, toluene, and xylene), and an array of resins including hydrocarbon, coal tar-based, colorless, and phenolics. This segment also delivers specialized engineered products like binders, pavement sealers, and superplasticizers. Beyond its core manufacturing activities, Rain Industries is also engaged in co-generating energy. Its Cement segment is responsible for the production and sale of both ordinary Portland and Portland pozzolana cement, marketed under the "Priya Cement" brand. The company adopted its current name, Rain Industries Limited, in July 2013, having previously operated as Rain Commodities Limited.
