Repsol, S.A. is a global integrated energy company with operations spanning three primary divisions. Its Exploration and Production segment focuses on discovering, developing, and extracting crude oil and natural gas. The Industrial segment encompasses refining activities, petrochemical production, and the trading, transportation, and regasification of crude oil, petroleum products, natural gas, and liquefied natural gas. The Commercial and Renewables arm is dedicated to low-carbon power generation, including renewable energy sources, as well as selling gas and electricity, offering mobility solutions, distributing oil products, and managing liquefied petroleum gas. Beyond these core segments, Repsol manufactures and markets asphalt, chemical products, lubricants, and biofuels. Repsol also drives technological innovation, developing nanoparticles and nanofibers for material, energy, and biomedical uses, and implementing blockchain technology across retail, energy, and automotive industries. Additional ventures include producing synthetic oil cloths, investing in liquefaction plants, and managing water treatment technologies. Founded in 1927 and headquartered in Madrid, Spain, the company was known as Repsol YPF, S.A. until its name change to Repsol, S.A. in May 2012.
