This index seeks to replicate the market performance of major and medium-sized Canadian companies. It employs strict ESG criteria, barring entities that fail to meet specific standards, such as those involved with controversial armaments, possessing an MSCI ESG Rating of 'CCC' or being unrated, or deriving revenue from sectors like tobacco, conventional weapons, nuclear weapons, civilian firearms, thermal coal, unconventional/Arctic oil and gas extraction, and palm oil. Furthermore, any issuer with an MSCI Controversies Score of zero is excluded. The index also aims for reduced greenhouse gas intensity compared to its reference benchmark.
