This index aims to mirror the performance of U.S. large and mid-capitalization companies chosen for their strong environmental, social, and governance (ESG) attributes and relatively low carbon exposure compared to industry counterparts. Exclusions apply to entities engaged in controversial, civilian, or nuclear weapons, or tobacco production. Companies with an MSCI ESG Rating of 'CCC' or those that are unrated are also omitted, as are issuers generating revenue from thermal coal, oil sands extraction, or military defense weapons, or having an MSCI ESG Impact Monitor "Red" score of less than 1.
