CVR Energy, Inc. and its affiliated companies conduct petroleum refining and nitrogen fertilizer manufacturing operations across the United States. These activities are organized into two primary divisions: Petroleum and Nitrogen Fertilizer. The Petroleum division is responsible for processing crude oil into various finished products, including gasoline and diesel fuel, which it then distributes. This segment manages and operates a specialized coking refinery for medium-sour crude oil in southeastern Kansas, in addition to another crude oil refinery located in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. These facilities are supported by integrated logistics assets. Key customers for this division include retail distributors, railroad companies, agricultural co-ops, and other industry refiners or marketers. Its Nitrogen Fertilizer division manages a plant in North America that produces nitrogen fertilizer products through a pet coke gasification process. Additionally, it operates a facility in East Dubuque, Illinois, which manufactures nitrogen fertilizers such as ammonia and urea ammonium nitrate (UAN). The company primarily supplies UAN products to agricultural clients, while its ammonia is sold to both agricultural and industrial consumers. Established in 1906, CVR Energy, Inc. maintains its corporate headquarters in Sugar Land, Texas, and functions as a subsidiary under the umbrella of Icahn Enterprises L.P.
