Public Service Enterprise Group Incorporated (PSEG) functions as an energy utility, predominantly operating across the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. Its operations are structured into two core divisions: PSE&G and PSEG Power. The PSE&G segment is tasked with electricity transmission, as well as the distribution of both electricity and natural gas to residential, commercial, and industrial clientele. This division also allocates resources to solar power generation projects and offers energy efficiency initiatives and related programs, alongside providing appliance servicing and repair. As of December 31, 2021, its substantial infrastructure encompassed 25,000 circuit miles for electric transmission and distribution, supported by 862,000 poles. The electrical network further included 56 switching stations with a collective capacity of 39,353 megavolt-amperes (MVA), and 235 substations providing 9,285 MVA of capacity. For managing electric distribution, it operated four main and five sub-headquarters. On the gas front, PSEG maintained 18,000 miles of gas mains, utilizing twelve main and two sub-headquarters for distribution, one meter shop, and 58 natural gas metering and regulating stations. PSEG was established in 1985 and maintains its corporate headquarters in Newark, New Jersey.
