The AMG River Road Small Cap Value Fund primarily focuses its investments on equity securities of small-capitalization companies. Under typical market conditions, a minimum of 80% of its total assets are committed to this strategy, targeting firms the subadviser deems undervalued. This value-oriented approach involves acquiring shares of businesses that are either currently out of favor with the market or whose intrinsic worth is not fully reflected in their stock price when compared to industry peers or their future growth potential. Additionally, the fund retains the flexibility to invest in mid-capitalization companies, which the adviser currently defines as entities whose market capitalization, at the time of acquisition, falls within the typical range of constituents of the Russell Midcap® Index.
