The company's Consumer Banking division caters to everyday financial needs by providing various savings options (traditional and money market), certificates of deposit, individual retirement accounts (IRAs), both interest and non-interest-bearing checking accounts, and investment product access. It also extends credit through cards, residential mortgages, home equity lines, and direct or indirect loans for vehicles, recreational vehicles, and personal use. Within its Global Wealth & Investment Management segment, the focus is on asset growth and preservation. This includes investment management, brokerage services, banking solutions, trust and retirement planning, as well as customized wealth management strategies, notably specialized asset management. The Global Banking segment delivers extensive financial solutions to corporate and governmental clients. This encompasses a broad spectrum of lending products, such as commercial loans, leases, commitment facilities, trade finance, commercial real estate, and asset-based lending. It also offers treasury solutions like cash management, foreign exchange, short-term investment options, and merchant services, alongside working capital management, debt and equity underwriting and distribution, and advisory services for mergers and other corporate actions. Finally, the Global Markets segment facilitates financial transactions and manages risk. Its services include market-making, financing, securities clearing, settlement, and custody. It also provides sophisticated risk management products, utilizing derivatives across interest rates, equity, credit, currency, and commodities, in addition to foreign exchange, fixed-income, and mortgage-related instruments. As of December 31, 2021, Bank of America served approximately 67 million consumer and small business clients. Its vast network comprised around 4,200 retail financial centers, roughly 16,000 automated teller machines (ATMs), and digital banking platforms accessed by approximately 41 million active users.
