Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. (BIP-UN.TO) is a global infrastructure company that invests in and manages essential assets across the utilities, transport, midstream, and data sectors. Its operations span North and South America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific region. Within its Utilities segment, the company manages extensive electricity and natural gas networks. These include around 61,000 km of operational electricity transmission and distribution lines, supplemented by an additional 5,300 km of dedicated electricity transmission infrastructure, alongside 4,200 km of natural gas pipelines. The segment serves approximately 7.3 million electricity and natural gas connections and provides 360,000 long-term contracted sub-metering services. Complementary offerings encompass heating and cooling solutions, gas distribution, water heater services, and the rental of HVAC equipment and various other home services. The Transport division facilitates the movement, storage, and handling of merchandise, commodities, and passengers. Its extensive infrastructure includes various rail assets, such as a network of approximately 22,000 km of track, an additional 5,500 km of track network, and 4,800 km of dedicated rail lines. This is complemented by 3,800 km of motorways and 13 strategically located port terminals. Through its Midstream segment, the company provides vital natural gas transmission, gathering, processing, and storage capabilities. This includes around 15,000 km of transmission pipelines, 3,900 km of gas gathering pipelines, storage facilities capable of holding 600 billion cubic feet of natural gas, 17 natural gas processing plants, and one petrochemical processing complex. The Data segment manages a significant digital infrastructure portfolio, featuring approximately 148,000 operational telecom towers, 8,000 multi-purpose towers and active rooftop sites, and 2,100 active telecom towers. It also operates 1,600 cell sites and 70 distributed antenna systems. The segment's expansive fiber network includes 10,000 km of fiber backbone and approximately 12,000 km of fiber optic cable. Furthermore, it oversees 50 data centers with a combined critical load capacity of 200 megawatts. Established in 2007, Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. maintains its headquarters in Hamilton, Bermuda, and functions as a subsidiary of Brookfield Asset Management Inc.
