Description
CHS Inc. operates as a diverse agricultural enterprise, supplying essential grains, food items, and energy solutions to both commercial clients and consumers across a vast global footprint, including North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia Pacific region. The company's operations are strategically divided into four primary segments: Energy, Agribusiness (Ag), Nitrogen Production, and Foods. Within its Energy division, CHS Inc. manages petroleum refineries and an extensive network of pipelines. This segment is deeply involved in the sourcing, marketing, and distribution of various refined fuels, such as gasoline, diesel, and other energy derivatives. It also handles the blending, sale, and supply of lubricants, along with providing propane and other natural gas liquids. Under its Cenex brand, CHS processes crude oil into a range of refined petroleum products, which are then distributed to approximately 1,500 member cooperatives and independent retail locations. Furthermore, the company provides crucial transportation services. The Agribusiness arm focuses on the trade of grains and oilseeds. It offers a comprehensive array of agricultural inputs, including seeds, crop fertilizers, plant protection products, and animal feed and health solutions. This segment also distributes refined and renewable fuels, propane, as well as processed oils, meal, soy flour, and sunflower-based commodities. Nitrogen Production is dedicated to the manufacturing and sale of nitrogen-derived products, such as methanol, urea ammonium nitrate (UAN), and urea, among others. The Foods division is responsible for developing, packaging, and distributing a wide selection of vegetable oil-based goods. This includes bottled oils, margarine, mayonnaise, various dressings, sauces, and other culinary products. Beyond its core product lines, CHS Inc. extends financial support through loans specifically designed for the commercial agriculture sector and individual producers. The company also offers expert consulting and commodity risk management services. Founded in 1936, CHS Inc. maintains its corporate headquarters in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.
