CHS Inc. functions as a comprehensive agricultural enterprise, supplying grains, food items, and energy resources to businesses and consumers throughout a wide international reach, encompassing North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia Pacific region. The company's diverse activities are structured across four principal segments: Energy, Ag, Nitrogen Production, and Foods. Its Energy division manages petroleum refineries and pipelines, in addition to sourcing, marketing, and distributing an array of refined fuels such as gasoline, diesel, and other energy commodities. This segment also covers the blending and selling of lubricants, the supply of propane and natural gas liquids, and the conversion of crude oil into refined petroleum products distributed under the Cenex brand via a network of approximately 1,500 locations to member cooperatives and independent retailers. Transportation services are also provided within this segment. The Ag segment is active in marketing grains and oilseeds. It delivers a broad range of agricultural essentials, including seeds, crop nutrients, crop protection solutions, animal feed, animal health products, as well as refined and renewable fuels and propane. This segment further offers processed goods like refined oils, meal, soy flour, and processed sunflower products. The Nitrogen Production segment concentrates on the manufacturing and sale of nitrogen-based products, specifically methanol, urea ammonium nitrate (UAN), and urea. The Foods division is responsible for the production, packaging, and distribution of various vegetable oil-based consumer goods, including packaged oils, margarine, mayonnaise, flavored dressings, sauces, and other food items. Beyond these core operations, CHS Inc. offers financial services, providing diverse loans tailored to the requirements of commercial agriculture cooperatives and individual producers, alongside consulting and commodity risk management expertise. CHS Inc. was established in 1936 and is headquartered in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.
