CHS Inc. operates as a comprehensive agricultural enterprise, delivering a spectrum of grains, food items, and energy resources to businesses and consumers across North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia Pacific. The company's diverse activities are categorized into four primary divisions: Energy, Ag, Nitrogen Production, and Foods. Within its Energy segment, CHS manages petroleum refineries and an extensive network of pipelines. It is responsible for the sourcing, marketing, and distribution of various refined fuels, including gasoline, diesel fuel, and other energy commodities. This segment also handles the blending, sale, and distribution of lubricants, along with providing propane and other natural gas liquids. Furthermore, CHS processes crude oil into refined petroleum products, which are then sold under the Cenex brand through a network of approximately 1,500 sites serving member cooperatives and independent retailers, complemented by its transportation services. The Ag segment focuses on marketing grains and oilseeds. It supplies essential agricultural inputs such as seeds, crop nutrients, and crop protection products, alongside animal feed and animal health solutions. This division also offers refined and renewable fuels, propane, and a range of processed items like refined oils, meal, soy flour, and sunflower products. Through its Nitrogen Production segment, CHS manufactures and sells nitrogen-based chemicals, including methanol, urea, UAN, and related compounds. The Foods segment undertakes the manufacturing, packaging, and distribution of vegetable oil-based products. This encompasses packaged oils, margarine, mayonnaise, flavored dressings, sauces, and other prepared food items. Beyond its core operations, CHS Inc. provides financial services, extending loans to agricultural cooperatives for their commercial requirements and to individual producers. It also offers consulting and commodity risk management expertise. CHS Inc. was founded in 1936 and is headquartered in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.
