This fund aims to maximize current income free from federal income tax while also preserving capital. The portfolio typically allocates nearly all its net assets to municipal bonds that offer income exempt from federal taxation. A minimum of 75% of its holdings consist of municipal bonds rated A or better at the time of acquisition, or unrated bonds deemed comparable by the sub-adviser. While the average duration of the fund's bond portfolio usually extends beyond ten years, the management maintains the flexibility to invest without specific maturity restrictions.
