Companhia Paranaense de Energia (COPEL) is a Brazilian entity focused on the generation, transformation, distribution, and commercialization of energy. It serves a diverse client base encompassing industrial, residential, commercial, rural, and other customer segments, predominantly within the State of Paraná. The company's activities are organized across segments such as Power Generation and Transmission, Power Distribution, Gas, and Power Sales. COPEL also extends its operations to include piped natural gas distribution. As of December 31, 2021, its energy portfolio comprised 20 hydroelectric plants, 30 wind plants, and one thermoelectric plant, amounting to a total installed capacity of 5,957 megawatts. Furthermore, its infrastructure included 3,638 km of transmission lines and 204,957 km of distribution lines. COPEL possesses concessions for electricity distribution in 394 municipalities throughout Paraná and in Porto União, Santa Catarina. Founded in 1954, its headquarters are located in Curitiba, Brazil.
