Exide Industries Limited sells its batteries under the EXIDE, INDEX, DYNEX, SF SONIC, CHLORIDE, and CEIL brand names through a distribution network of approximately 48,000 direct and indirect dealers. Its products are used in power, solar, railways, telecom, UPS, projects, traction, and other industries. The company was formerly known as Chloride Industries Ltd. and changed its name to Exide Industries Limited in August 1995. Exide Industries Limited was founded in 1916 and is headquartered in Kolkata, India.
