The primary objective of this fund is to generate current income for its investors. Under typical market conditions, its main holdings consist of high-quality mortgage-backed securities (MBS), with the goal of achieving returns consistent with the overall U.S. residential mortgage market. Specifically, the fund focuses on MBS that are either issued directly by or guaranteed by U.S. government agencies or government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs). The portfolio also has the flexibility to include U.S. government securities and certain types of derivative instruments.
