This fund aims to generate significant current income and safeguard capital. It primarily invests in Canadian fixed-income instruments such as bonds issued by the Canadian federal and provincial governments, corporate bonds, debentures, and short-term notes. The portfolio may also include mortgage-backed securities, other asset-backed financial products, and dividend-paying equities from Canadian companies. Additionally, the fund is authorized to hold foreign fixed-income securities. A defining characteristic is that the average weighted term-to-maturity of its investments will not exceed five years.
