The Fidelity Advisor Balanced Fund Class Z has a dual objective: to generate both consistent income and long-term capital growth. When operating under a neutral market outlook, the fund typically allocates approximately 60% of its portfolio to stocks and other equity holdings. The remaining assets are then invested in a variety of bonds and other debt instruments, which can include lower-rated, non-investment-grade securities commonly known as high-yield or "junk" bonds. Furthermore, a minimum of 25% of the fund's total assets must be committed to fixed-income senior securities.
