The Gotham Index Plus Institutional fund employs an "enhanced index" or "index plus" strategy, distinguishing it from a traditional passive index fund. Its investment approach involves taking both long and short positions in equity and equity-related securities. A segment of the fund's assets is dedicated to mirroring the performance of the S&P 500® Index. Complementing this, the fund also gains exposure through an actively managed long/short portfolio. This additional portfolio primarily invests in the 500 to 700 largest U.S. companies by market capitalization, utilizing both long and short holdings.
