Hecla Mining Company, along with its affiliated entities, operates internationally and across the United States, focusing on the exploration, acquisition, development, and production of both precious and base metal deposits. The company extracts silver, gold, lead, and zinc, processing them into concentrates, as well as producing carbon material rich in silver and gold, and silver-gold doré. These products are then supplied to custom smelters, metal traders, and other third-party processors. Hecla maintains complete ownership of several significant mining operations, including the Greens Creek mine on Admiralty Island in southeast Alaska; the Lucky Friday mine located in northern Idaho; Canada's Casa Berardi mine in the Abitibi region of northwestern Quebec; and the San Sebastian mine in Durango, Mexico. Furthermore, the company fully owns three Nevada properties: the Fire Creek mine in Lander County, and both the Hollister and Midas mines in Elko County. Founded in 1891, Hecla Mining Company is headquartered in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
