This fund primarily directs its investments towards equity securities, specifically common and preferred stocks, issued by companies with smaller market capitalizations. Under typical market conditions, a minimum of 80% of the portfolio's net assets, including any funds acquired through borrowing for investment purposes, will be allocated to small-cap securities. The investment adviser determines small-cap companies to be those whose market capitalizations fall within the range represented by the Russell 2000® Index. The management team anticipates maintaining a portfolio comprising roughly 55 to 70 distinct companies.
