Generally, the fund pursues its investment objective by committing a minimum of 80% of its total assets, including capital borrowed for investment, to the common and preferred stocks of businesses located in Asia. Furthermore, it may invest in convertible securities from Asian companies, which can be of any maturity or credit quality, encompassing those without a rating or those that would fall below investment grade if rated. For the purposes of this fund, Asia is broadly defined to include all countries and markets across the continent, covering developed, emerging, and frontier economies within the region.
