Under typical market conditions, the fund aims to achieve its investment objective by dedicating at least 80% of its net assets—including capital acquired through borrowing for investment purposes—to equity securities, specifically common and preferred shares, of small-capitalization companies located in developing economies. These "emerging market countries" broadly encompass all nations globally, with the principal exceptions being the United States, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, and most countries throughout Western Europe.
