The fund aims to provide current income while also seeking a reasonable chance for future growth in both its principal value and income streams. Ordinarily, at least 30% of the fund's net assets are committed to equity holdings, and a separate minimum of 30% is allocated to debt instruments. Nevertheless, this minimum threshold for either equities or debt may be temporarily breached on occasion, influenced by market dynamics, specific security trades, or cash flow requirements. The debt component of the portfolio can include both investment-grade and high-yield (junk) bonds, spanning a spectrum of maturity dates.
