This fund primarily dedicates a minimum of 80% of its net assets (plus any funds borrowed for investment purposes) to the equity securities of small-capitalization companies, which include both common and preferred stocks. The portfolio may also hold convertible preferred stock and convertible debt instruments. Furthermore, the fund is authorized to invest in foreign securities, specifically those from emerging markets, and may also allocate capital to Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs).
