This fund typically commits a minimum of 80% of its total net assets (including any borrowed capital for investment) to stocks issued by companies in developing markets. While its primary focus is equities, it also has the flexibility to invest in debt instruments of any quality or maturity. A key restriction is that the fund cannot allocate more than 10% of its net assets to speculative debt, such as "junk bonds" or unrated securities of comparable risk, including those from issuers in default.
