The fund endeavors to achieve its investment objective by, under ordinary conditions, committing at least 80% of its holdings to securities of smaller American companies. Specifically, it primarily invests in a portfolio comprising stocks of U.S. small-cap firms. These equities are handpicked by Research Affiliates, LLC, the fund's sub-adviser, from an extensive selection of enterprises that meet predefined liquidity and capacity standards.
