Phillips 66 functions as a diversified energy enterprise, focusing on manufacturing and the logistical supply chain. Its activities are organized across four primary business units: Midstream, Chemicals, Refining, and Marketing & Specialties (M&S). The Midstream segment encompasses the transportation of crude oil and various raw materials, the delivery of refined petroleum products to end-markets, and comprehensive terminaling and storage solutions for both crude and processed fuels. It also manages the full lifecycle of natural gas liquids, from transportation and storage to fractionation, export, and market distribution, alongside offering various fee-based processing services. Furthermore, this segment is responsible for gathering, processing, conveying, and merchandising natural gas. Within the Chemicals segment, the company develops and supplies a range of olefin products, including ethylene, as well as aromatics and styrenics like benzene, cyclohexane, styrene, and polystyrene. This division also offers specialized chemical compounds, such as organosulfur chemicals, solvents, catalysts, and products vital for drilling and mining operations. The Refining division is dedicated to converting crude oil and other feedstocks into a spectrum of petroleum products, which include gasolines, distillates, aviation fuels, and renewable energy sources. This process takes place at its network of 12 refineries situated across the United States and Europe. The Marketing & Specialties (M&S) segment procures and distributes refined petroleum products, such as gasolines, distillates, and aviation fuels, predominantly within the United States and European markets. Additionally, this segment manufactures and commercializes specialized goods, including base oils and a variety of lubricants. Founded in 1875, Phillips 66 maintains its corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas.
