This fund's primary objective is to achieve long-term growth in its capital value. It accomplishes this by allocating at least 80% of its total assets to common stocks of U.S.-traded companies within the basic materials industry, along with various derivative instruments. The portfolio may also invest a substantial portion in basic materials firms with small to medium market capitalizations. For the purposes of this fund, Basic Materials Companies are defined as those involved in the production, extraction, refinement, or distribution of foundational raw materials and intermediate goods used by the industrial sector, which can include the manufacturing and transport of commodities such as metals, textiles, and wood products.
