This investment vehicle is designed to achieve a dual objective: foster long-term capital appreciation and provide a consistent stream of current income. Its dedicated investment advisor, Royce & Associates, LP (known as "Royce"), primarily directs the fund's capital into income-generating equity securities. These are carefully selected from companies with market valuations of up to $15 billion that the advisor believes are undervalued, trading below their intrinsic worth. As a core policy, the fund generally commits at least 80% of its net assets to common stocks that distribute dividends. Moreover, a minimum of 65% of its portfolio will comprise securities from companies whose market capitalization did not exceed $15 billion at the time of the original investment.
