Typically, the fund commits a substantial portion—at least 80% of its net assets, which includes any leveraged investments—to common equities. Moreover, in prevailing market conditions, no less than four-fifths of its capital is deployed into shares of American enterprises. These are predominantly large-cap firms, generally valued at over $2 billion, which the fund's managers identify as being undervalued yet possessing strong potential for both long-term capital appreciation and consistent income generation. Additionally, a smaller segment, up to one-fifth of its net assets, can be allocated to non-U.S. securities.
