The fund's primary objective is to achieve sustained growth in investment value over the long term. To accomplish this, it typically allocates at least 80% of its total assets (including any capital obtained through borrowing for investment purposes) into mid-capitalization companies. These are defined as businesses whose market valuation (determined by multiplying outstanding shares by the current share price) falls within the size parameters of companies found in either the S&P MidCap 400 Index or the Russell Midcap Value Index at the time of purchase.
