TotalEnergies SE operates as a globally integrated energy major, with diversified activities spanning oil and gas. The company is organized into four core divisions: Integrated Gas, Renewables & Power; Exploration & Production; Refining & Chemicals; and Marketing & Services. The Integrated Gas, Renewables & Power segment encompasses the entire liquefied natural gas (LNG) value chain—from production, shipping, and trading to regasification. It also trades liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), petcoke, sulfur, natural gas, and electricity, manages natural gas transportation, and generates power from various sources including natural gas, wind, solar, hydroelectric, and biogas. This segment further involves energy storage solutions, the development and operation of biomethane production units, and the provision of energy efficiency services. The Exploration & Production division is dedicated to discovering and extracting crude oil and natural gas. The Refining & Chemicals segment oversees refining operations, producing petrochemicals like olefins and aromatics, and various polymer derivatives such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, and hydrocarbon resins. It also engages in biomass conversion, elastomer processing, and the trading and maritime transport of crude oil and refined petroleum products. The Marketing & Services segment manufactures and distributes lubricants, and markets a broad array of petroleum products, including bulk fuels, aviation and marine fuels, specialized fluids, compressed natural gas, LPG, and bitumen, alongside offering fuel payment solutions. It operates an extensive network comprising approximately 16,000 service stations and 25,000 electric vehicle charging points worldwide. As of December 31, 2021, TotalEnergies SE held combined proven oil and gas reserves amounting to 12,062 million barrels of oil equivalent (Mboe). The company actively collaborates through strategic partnerships with PureCycle Technologies, Plastic Energy, Freepoint Eco-Systems, and Plastic Omnium on diverse developmental initiatives. Established in 1924 and headquartered in Courbevoie, France, the company adopted its current name, TotalEnergies SE, in June 2021, having previously been known as TOTAL SE.
