Its primary objective is to mirror the fluctuations of the physical gold spot price, accounting for the deduction of the management fee. This ETC is fully backed by specifically allocated physical gold, securely held by its custodian, HSBC Bank plc. The custodian exclusively accepts gold that adheres to the London Bullion Market Association's (LBMA) Good Delivery criteria. Each individual physical bar is segregated, uniquely identified, and allocated to the product. Consequently, if the price of physical gold increases by 1% over a day, the ETC's value will typically rise by 1% (prior to fees); conversely, a 1% drop in gold price would result in a similar 1% decrease in the ETC's value (prior to fees).
